Woman bashed in home invasion

Stolen: The blue and gold Kawasaki ER-6F that was taken from a Jimboomba home last week.

A JIMBOOMBA woman says she feared for her life during a home invasion in which she was tied up, bashed and had her motorbike was stolen.

Donna Moyler said she was put in a headlock by the man, thrown to the ground and trussed up.

“He put me in a headlock ’cause I was screaming for help,” she said. “It was scary, I tell you. I’ve never been through anything like that before in my life.”

No neighbours were home to hear her screams. The assailant used her daughter’s leggings to tie her up and gag her, although Ms Moyler said she managed to get her arms free.

During the afternoon incident last Tuesday the man hit her in the face with a block splitter.Three teeth were chipped and she received a split lip,a black eye and other bruising.

Ms Moyler said it appeared the man intended only to take her blue and gold Kawasaki ER-6F because he touched nothing else in the house.

She said the bike was missing its right side foot rest because the thief dropped the machine, snapping off the fitting.

Jimboomba Sen Sgt Peter Waugh confirmed Ms Moyler had made a complaint about the incident.

“The full matter is being investigated but at this stage there’s not a whole lot more I can say,” he said,

The man was heavily built, of Maori appearance.
