Three Tigers teams score outright wins

​Three Redlands Teams scored outright winsat the weekend, which has given them valuable points in the race for the final four.

Unfortunately 1st Grade suffered an outright loss at the hands of a strong Western Suburbs outfit. The boys will now have to re-group and win the remaining games to hopefully reach the final four.

2nd Grade, who dismissed Wests for 201 the previous week, chased down that score thanks to a fine knock of 96 from Cameron French. Liam Smith 51, Liam Kelly 39 and Harry Tyler 32 added valuable runs as Redlands finished on 301 runs. Wests batted again and the Tigers scored an outright victory as Wests were dismissed for 78 thanks to fine bowling from Scott Ensom, who took five wickets and Harry Tyler two.

3rd Grade, who were dismissed for 193 on day one, showed their bowling strengthas they dismissed Wests for 147. Ben Long 4 for 70, Trent Conwell 2 for 27 and Lachlan Honan 2 for 9 secured the first innings points for Redlands. Batting again the Tigers went for quick runs with Josh Guy hitting himself back into form with a quick fire 97 runs. Scott McAuliffe continued his good form being 41 not out at stumps.

4th Grade were 7 for 100 at stumps on day one and had the job in front of them at Wests on day two to chase down 138 runs. Fortunately the tail enders did the job for Redlands in securing first innings points thanks to a super knock from Andrew Barrie who wasted little time in scoring 28 runs with good support from Brayden Wallis with 27 runs. Redlands had Wests 5 for 131 in their second innings with Craig Holdsworth taking two wickets.

5th grade remained in top form securing outright points against Wests. Chasing 111 runs, Redlands declared at 6 for 287 thanks to a great innings of 105 runs from Dylan Grey. Jordan Crick and Michael Moss each added 41 runs. The Tigers boys then dismissed Wests a second time for 98 with Fraser Haynes taking 4 wickets for 5 runs and Jake Richards 3 for 20.

6th Grade no. 1, who were 5 for 134 at stumps on day one after bowling out Wests for 63, went on to score 185 with Josh Thompson 27 and Matthew Williamson 38 adding valuable runs. The Redlands bowlers then dismissed Wests a second time for only 56 runs. Scott Butters took a further two wickets, giving him seven wickets for the game and Callum Fisher three to give him five wickets for the game.

6th Grade no. 2, chasing Wynnum Manly’s score of 196, were dismissed for 111. Matthew Conwell top scored with 34 and Lance Parsons finished with 26 runs. Wynnum batted again and were 7 for 87 at stumps with Sean Lloyd taking three wickets and Alex Ward a further two to give him five wickets for the game.

1st Grade: Redlands 129 (L Hope-Shackley 72, N Hurford 18, M Labuschagne 13) and 72 (G Moller 30, S Milenko 18) def by Wests 288 (M Labuschagne 3/18, J Henderson 3/76, J Stimpson 2/52, S Milenko 1/24).

2nd Grade: Redlands 301 (C French 96, L Smith 51, L Kelly 39, H Tyler 32, S Kelly 29, S Ensom 21) def Wests 201 (L Watt 4/29, S Ensom 2/46, C Mailli 2/53) and 78 (S Ensom 5/14, H Tyler 2/23) – Outright win.

3rd Grade: Redlands 193 (S McAuliffe 37, D Brook 32) and 4/153 (J Guy 97, S McAuliffe 41*) def Wests 147 (B Long 4/70, T Conwell 2/27, L Honan 2/9).

4th Grade: Redlands 7/100 (P Bonney 32, A Barrie 28, B Wallis 27) def Wests 138 (B Bennett 3/10, W Todman 2/11, L Deardon 2/38) and 5/131 (C Holdsworth 2/30).

5th Grade: Redlands – 6/287 dec (D Grey 105, J Crick 41*, M Moss 41, M Conwell 36, J Catlow-Elliott 31) def Wests 111 (D Wallis 4/36, B Stewart 3/21, F Haynes 2/29) and 98 (F Haynes 4/5, J Richards 3/20) – Outright win.

6th Grade: Redlands 1 185 (J Thompson 43, M Williamson 38) def Wests 63 (S Butters 5/10, C Fisher 2/6, J Franklin 2/25) and 56 (C Fisher 3/19, S Butters 2/8) – Outright win.

6th Grade: Redlands 2 111 (M Conwell 34, L Parsons 26, J Read 14 def by Wynnum Manly 196 (A Ward 3/36, N Lau 2/23) and 7/87 (S Lloyd 3/31, A Ward 2/26).
