Tennis gradings served up

Division three winners in the popular night comp last year were Seanine Cooper, Stephanie Symons, Lane Clarke and Tony Boyle. The Bega Tennis Club will hold social grading nights for the upcoming Tulgeen Disability Services night competition.

Organisers are excited with the revitalised competition and hoped to see strong entries for the summer contest.

Two grading sessions will be held on Thursday and January 28 at the Bega tennis courts, with the competition proposed to start on February 4.

The club has welcomed a new committee to run the night competition and organisers are excited to offer big prize pools for winners.

The competition had nearly fallen by the wayside after the retirement of Brian Richards from running the contest, but has since reformed and flourished under the new leadership.

Division two returned to the competition late last year and if numbers are strong enough the club could soon be hosting a third.

Anyone new to the area and interested in playing friendly competition tennis as well as returning members are urged to head along to either session.

The club also hosts regular ladies competitions.
