Parkruns are 5km walks/runsheld every Saturday morningthroughout Australia and the world. Theyare free to all entrants and are manned solely by volunteers.

The Shellharbour parkrun is a beautiful but challenging course that includes hills, sand, grass, natural rocky earth and gravel. It travels along a beach, past a lagoon and through a small patch of steamy rainforest.

Two of the RATS whoattended last Saturday broke their age group record for that course. Martin Tomasini was thrilled to pick up the 60-64 age group record, with 21.00. Steve Grant, who came second outright, was very happy to break the 45-49 record, with 18.29.

Other RATS who attended were Lauri Perino, who ran a course PB, plusBarbara Maxwell, who ran with Lisa Grant. Lisa ran a sensational 36 minuteson this spectacular, but very tough course, after being out of running for several years due to injury.

Last Sunday, on a glorious summer morning, a large group of RATS met at Burrill Lake Lions Park, for a pleasant bush run along the lake and down to Potholes Beach. Both the lake and beach were sparkling on a cool but sunny morning, just perfect for running.

Most ran about 12km, some went a bit further for 13km and a couple had to leave early and shorted the course for about 9km.

Next Wednesday is the 3rd in the month, so please meet at 6am, at Mollymook Surf Club car park, for stair or hill intervals.

Next Sunday please meet at 6.30am, near the corner of Porters Creek Road and the Princes Hwy, Conjola. Turn left off the Highway and turn right almost immediately into a parking bay. We will car shuffle from here, to the Pointers Gap Lookout access Road. The basic out and back to the dam is about 11km, but this can easily be lengthened, or shortened, to suit current training requirements. All welcome.

The Ulladulla RATS welcome guests, visitors and potential new members to join us, for any of our runs. All standards catered for. A beginners walk/run, with encouragement and support, can be arranged – distance and timing is flexible. For further information, ring or text Lauri on 0438 44 55 73.
