Poyner powers through fun run

After a week in Sydney at Macquarie University Narooma’sGoergia Poynerreturned aboutmidnight on Friday, keen on entering the Tathra Wharf 2 Waves beach race.

The popular event attracted 178 entrants across all age groups and divisions and for a competitive runner like Poyner, there wasnothing like entering a new venue against new competitors to set herself for competition.

Poyner’s rivals could not keep up with her and she blitzed the field finishing ahead of Caitlyn Broadfoot and Minka Waratah.

She was not only thefastest in her secondary category in eight minutes and 46,but the fastestfemale by 48seconds in all classes.

Being only a short race at two kilometres, shethen ranback to the start and did it again.
