Games day at Moree PCYC a unified success

ABOUT 60 children participated in the games night held by Miyay Birray, Family Support and Moree PCYC.

The children rotated between futsal, basketball, table tennis, badminton and handball.

PCYC manager, Andrew Ryan, said the event was successful.

“The children had a good time, everything ran very smoothly,” he said.

“They children moved around, played different games and had a bit of a feed. The youth workers engaged well with the children.”

Mr Ryan believes that game nights are very beneficial to children.

“If you can bring a large group together they learn so much from each other such as sportsmanship. It also creates more social skills. I think it gives them structured entertainment.”

Mr Ryan knows that it’s important to work in partnership with groups likes Miyay Birray and Family Support.

“We all understand the roles each service plays. Miyay Birray and Family Support receive funds to run and organise programs, we are a facility provider. They cover the program we cover the facilities,” he said.

“Their assistance to work with us is so important. We join together as a collective group and work together, it’s a win win for the children.”

Moree PCYC want to thank Miyay Birray and Family Support for brining the program together and are looking forward to working with both organisations again in the future.
